Who am I?
I am Mariona Coll i Calabús.
As a child, in my family home in Torroella de Montgrí, in the Empordà region, I used to move objects from one place to another. I enjoyed creating new atmospheres. These were the first expressions of my vocation, which truly ignited during my years in a theatre company. Scenography revealed to me the power spaces have to evoke sensations.
I obtained my Higher Degree in Interior Design from Lai Escola de Disseny and the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, in Barcelona. In that city, I gained my first professional experience alongside Eulalia Calveras and at the Juanola Consult studio.
Once settled in Girona, new perspectives emerged while working for studios such as Influenza and Atmosphere, until I met the decorator and antique dealer Serge Castella, with whom I collaborated for five years. Meanwhile, my first independent commissions began to arrive, allowing me to develop my own vision of interior design.
In 2016, I took the leap to fully dedicate myself to my own project, under my own name, because what I create is a reflection of who I am, and because I work from my sensitivity and from a deep passion for this profession, which continues to fascinate me every day.
When I am not drawing, you can find me enjoying time with my family, travelling or sailing. After so many years devoted to understanding and designing spaces, I am convinced that there is no work more complete than nature.
